January 1, 2010 - Lions and Tigers and Bears! Oh My!

Where we now live, we're very fortunate to be close to one of the best zoos in the country, the San Diego Zoo. When we first moved here last year, it was one of our first excursions, and that day we decided to purchase memberships so we could go as often as we'd like. It turned out to be a great investment, because we've been there (and to its sister park, the Wild Animal Park) countless times and always find new animals to marvel at! From the reptile house (a perennial favorite of Erin's for some reason) to the big cats to the new Elephant Odyssey, our days at the parks are always packed with fun and we always learn something new, like why flamingos are pink or how to tell the difference between African and Asian elephants. It's always a great day at the zoo!
